Saying I love you hurtsThis is for a friend, who I hardly knew, He said I love you, And wanted me to say it too.Saying I love you hurts
But I couldn’t just yet, And I felt so confused, Where my heart did lie, And to whom it was true.
So I bit my tongue, Held back the tears, Prayed to anyone, That I would have nothing to fear
Then my tongue just bled, And the tears were shed, And no one could answer, And I couldn’t be lead.
So I did the only thing I knew. Wrote a short note, Paid some I.O.U.s, And finally said I love you.
